Alma Mater Studiorum – Università di Bologna

Established in 1088, the Alma Mater Studiorum Università di Bologna is the oldest university in the western world. The University of Bologna has a Multicampus structure, with campuses in Bologna and the Romagna region – Cesena, Forlì, Ravenna and Rimini, and permanent headquarters in Buenos Aires since 1998. With a current community of more than 90,000 students, the university is among the largest in Italy. Alma Mater occupies the first place among Italian universities in terms of number of students abroad and is among the top 5 universities in Europe in terms of number of exchange students.

It is the first Italian university for funds received from the Erasmus+ programme and the second in terms of funds received from the European Commission due to the participation of the Horizon2020 research and innovation programme. Assifero

Created in 2003, Assifero is the Italian association of enterprises and philanthropic entities, non-profit entities of a private nature which, by their mission, use private resources – financial, real estate, intellectual and relational – for the common good. Assifero, which aims to promote a visible and effective Italian philanthropic system, is recognized as a strategic partner for humanitarian and sustainable development and is the reference point for philanthropy in Italy, associating today 180 of the main private foundations (family, corporate, and community) and other philanthropic bodies, expression of a common Italian will in which knowledge, traditions, skills and financial resources are put to good use for the sustainable development of our country and in international contexts. Assifero works to increase the circularity of information, good practices, and innovative approaches, to build critical mass together, scale models, strengthen the social impact and promote an aggregative philanthropic pole with the ability to represent, propose, collaborate, and be more effective and sustainable.

Tiresia

Tiresia (Technology Innovation & REsearch for Social ImpAct) is the competence center of the School of Management, established in 2013 with the aim of exploring the complex relationship between societal impact, innovation and technology. It positions itself as a benchmark in Italy and Europe in supporting the development of the impact economy.

Through scientific research, university and postgraduate education, training, and the application of innovative tools and methodologies, Tiresia supports the various players in the impact economy ecosystem. Its research areas include impact measurement, impact finance, social innovation, technological innovation, and governance tools for managing complex partnerships. Tiresia’s approach promotes knowledge transfer through an innovative, transformative, and critical perspective.

Social Enterprise Academy

Social Enterprise Academy (SEA): is an international learning and development social enterprise, with local teams in 15 countries on five continents. SEA believes social innovators themselves are best placed to solve their own challenges around development and scaling up. SEA uses peer learning approaches, led by facilitators who are themselves social entrepreneurs. The learning is action-based, interactive and fun. We create a high support learning environment, in which participants feel able to be open and honest about their own reality. We then challenge participants to better understand themselves, how they engage with others and why their organisations are developing as they are. The outcome is transformational learning which enhances social impact.

Social Enterprise UK (SEUK) is the UK membership body for social enterprises. It leads the world’s largest network of businesses with a social or environmental purpose, working together to create a fairer economy and a more sustainable future for everyone. SEUK exists to be a strong voice for social enterprises, demonstrating the difference that mission-led businesses are making in the world and influencing decision-makers to create an environment where this way of doing business can thrive.

SEUK campaigns on behalf of the social enterprise community, having led public policy for decades and contributed to the passage of the Social Value Act (2012), using the mounting evidence from its comprehensive research to make the case for change. It drives cross-sector collaboration, working with private companies and public institutions to bring social enterprises into their supply chains and helping organizations to create positive social and environmental impact.

Social Seed

Social Seed is a research, training, and advisory agency that has been supporting social enterprises, public administrations, and second-level organizations since 2014 in the design of local public policies and services.

It works alongside public, private, and third sector organizations engaged in innovation, helping them co-design in order to redefine their role within an uncertain and complex ecosystem, identify their assets, enhance their resources, and shape their own idea of change and feasible strategy.

Social Seed fosters an approach that promotes the value of talents, entrepreneurial capacities, and underutilized resources—both within organizations and across territories.
